Extra Credit Opportunities

I would like to offer a few small extra credit assignments for students as we approach the end of the semester.  First, if any student would like to visit the Genghis Khan exhibit currently being presented at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History and write-up a short review of it (500 words or more; typed and double-spaced; summarizing the exhibit, relating it’s content to the CollegeBoard Key Concepts for AP World History and critiquing its effectiveness/authenticity) I will gladly award up to 10 test points for quality reviews of the exhibit.  I would also like to offer the opportunity for students to write a similarly formatted review for the film Lincoln, released this past week and directed by Steven Spielberg.  Up to 5 test points will be awarded for quality film reviews.  Both of these assignments must be turned-in on or before Thursday, December 13^th if students with to receive extra credit.

Model United Nations

Model UN is an international diplomacy-based debate club. At Model UN, we adopt the positions of a country and argue, negotiate, and compromise with other countries at conferences in order to acheive our country's policy objectives. In the past, we have represented Singapore at Kennesaw State's conference, where we earned an Outstanding Delegation award, and Pakistan at Georgia Tech's conference. Unit 3 Test Saturday Study Session

Thank you to all of the parents and students that help to make Saturday's study session a great success.  We had approximately 60 students in attendance.  At the review we collectively mapped the Mongol conquests, discussed at length the College Board Course Description for the period 600 C.E. to 1450 C.E. and wrote a timed, skeletal D.B.Q.
